Covid-19 Booster & Flu Vaccinations – Information for patients
We will be providing COVID-19 boosters and seasonal flu jabs at Milman Road and Kennet Surgery (at the Milman Road site) commencing on Saturday 1st October 2022, continuing through to December 2022.
Please note, the COVID booster will only be available for those 18 years or older.
Please do not call and request an appointment until you are invited.
We will be calling patients in turn, including:
- those aged 65 years and over
- those aged 18 to 64 years in clinical risk groups
- pregnant women
- those in long-stay residential care homes
- carers, including close contacts of immunocompromised individuals
- 50–64 year olds not in clinical risk groups (including those who turn 50 by 31 March 2023)*
* We will not be able to give flu jabs to persons aged 50-64 years before the 15th of October 2022.
The interval between your last COVID vaccine should be 3 months.
- Those that are driving themselves should wait in their cars for a period of 15 minutes before leaving.
- Wherever possible we ask that if you are eligible for both flu and covid vaccines, you have them at the same time, however you can let the vaccinator know which vaccine you are coming for.
- You should not attend for your COVID/Flu vaccine if you have had the COVID-19 virus in the last 28 days.

Please note: We will be calling 2–3-year-olds and 16–18-year-olds for their flu vaccines separately. We are not able to give the COVID booster to people under the age of 18 years.

Parking: We will not be able to provide parking for everyone, the limited spaces we do have will be prioritised for Blue-Badge holders and/or those with limited mobility.
There will be a drop off and turning point for patients who have organised a lift with a friend or relative because of limited or restricted mobility.

Where possible we do ask that patients use public transport, buses 5 &6 leave Reading town centre very regularly and stop on Basingstoke Road adjacent to Milman Road Explore – Reading Buses (reading-buses.co.uk)

On the day of your vaccination appointment, we will ask you some questions to check that it is ok to go ahead with the vaccine. This will take a few minutes to complete. You will be asked to queue up and staff will be available to direct to the next available vaccinator.
